Mars Attack - The Final Piece of the Trilogy (Poll Results)

Hey Everybody, Dorksworth here just to feedback the results to you from our Mars Attacks poll last week. First of all, I want to say a big thank you to everyone that took the time to vote, and comment on our facebook and forum discussions. Lots of really interesting opinions there!

The results came back, and I was happy to see that the vast majority of people were very happy with Mantic's latest potential idea. But don't take my word for it - check out the graph below:

With any luck, those people that were not so impressed will in time find it in their hearts to forgive and forget, or better still, embrace - after all, it was Charles Darwin that said:

"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, it is the one that is most adaptable to change."

*Addition*

The Inclusion of Mars Attacks Martians getting involved with Dreadball has been confirmed, with the below featuring on the Mars Attacks kickstarter page.

When questioned about why they're being included, their place in the cannonical universe, and how they will work in tournaments, James Hewitt, Mantic's community manager had this to say:

"We don't want to write Martians into the Warpath universe, because they're obviously not part of it. However, Mars Attacks has a history of crossing over into other things, so it's an obvious choice to have them in DreadBall - and people have been asking for them since the first week. So there we go.

However, some people were concerned that releasing a Martian team would be the same as making them "canonical" to the Warpath universe. That's why we've made it clear that they're not.

As you've correctly guessed, we don't (yet) have a team of psychotic ninjas upholding our every word, so we can't make the call as to how they'll be used at tournaments, etc. What we can say is this:

- They will be official at Mantic tournaments (for now, at least!).
- They will be just as balanced as any other DreadBall team.
- Anyone who does any kind of organised play is free to either say they're allowed or they're not. "

Please feel free to discuss the results below

  1. That's hardly the vast majority people being happy. It's BARELY a majority. Let's watch the verbage. Glad to see the tards pushing for this are twisting the public opinion.

Why does this have to be pushed as tournament legal? Why can't YOU deal with it just being casual?

    1. Hey anonymous,

We're just reporting the facts mate, don't know where you've got that stuff about tournaments from, certainly not us.

15+13=28% against, versus 35+19=54% for. And let's not forget the 18% who don't mind... I'd describe that as a vast majority. It's not far off doubled...

  2. "Ack, ack!" "What's that sound? No, it isn't a Martian, that's another DreadBall fan choking on his disappointment."
